Brooklinen Bedding Collection
If there's one thing that I love more than sleep, it's my bed. Admittedly, I've been cycling through sets of the same pair of Target sheets since college—they're cheap, reliable, and comfortable enough. But as much as my cozy, cotton, Target sheets have served me over the years,

I decided it was time for an upgrade. When it came time to decide exactly what I wanted to upgrade to, I had no idea where to start. Thread count? Never heard of her. The only prerequisite I had when it came to finding a replacement for Old Reliable, was that they had to have a hotel-like feel, which is what led me to Brooklinen.

I'd seen Brooklinen everywhere, from my daily commute to my Instagram feed. When I started digging into reviews, the overwhelming response was positive. And, I mean, have you seen photos of the sheets? Each Brooklinen bed I scrolled through was cloud-like—sold!

Brooklinen was established by Vicki and Rich Fulop, a married couple, who were inspired to create the brand after experiencing the luxurious sheets in a hotel room. They were taken aback by the exorbitant price of $800 and sought to offer the same opulent hotel experience at an affordable cost. In 2014, they launched Brooklinen through a Kickstarter campaign.

Since then, the company has achieved sales exceeding $30 million, indicating a strong consumer preference for their products.

Brooklinen's sheets have garnered widespread acclaim, and it's not difficult to understand why. They provide the indulgence of hotel-style sheets at a fraction of the price. Additionally, each set is thoughtfully labeled with "long" and "short" sides, a feature that proves invaluable for individuals like myself who struggle with bed-making.

I had the opportunity to test Brooklinen's complete range of sheets, which includes the classic percale, luxe sateen, linen, and heathered cashmere options. Spoiler alert: I was thoroughly impressed with every pair, although I must admit that some stood out more than others. For a comprehensive review, please continue reading.

1-Brooklinen Classic Core Sheet Set

Brooklinen's classic percale core set, which is their most budget-friendly option, was the first set of sheets that I had the opportunity to test. The term "percale" refers to the tightly-woven fabric used in these sheets, resulting in a matte finish that distinguishes them from Brooklinen's Luxe Sateen sheets, which offer a more radiant appearance and a different tactile experience.

Even before placing the sheets on my bed, I could immediately discern their superior quality compared to my cotton sheets from Target. With their crisp, cool, and comforting texture, these sheets exhibited great potential right from the moment I unpacked them.

Following a quick wash and dry in accordance with the provided instructions, I was eager to settle in and enjoy a restful night's sleep. Overall, the sheets exceeded my expectations. As someone who tends to get warm during sleep, I found that these sheets effectively regulated my body temperature throughout the entire night.

Furthermore, the claim of a hotel-like quality was certainly not an exaggeration. Considering their reasonable price, it is difficult to find a comparable level of understated luxury.

If the classic percale sheets had a more refined and sophisticated counterpart, it would undoubtedly be the luxurious sateen sheets. Priced slightly higher, this collection boasts a glossy and subtly thicker fabric, thanks to the incorporation of sateen, a wrinkle-resistant material commonly found in high-end bedding. Fortunately, Brooklinen offers the opportunity to experience this opulent fabric firsthand.

According to Brooklinen's website, these sheets are described as "sumptuously smooth and indulgent," and I can attest that this description is not an exaggeration. Slipping into these sheets felt akin to sinking into the plush bed of a luxury hotel, a sensation that is quite unfamiliar in my modest New York City apartment. With a thread count of 480, double that of the classic percale sheets, I found the luxe version to be a subtle upgrade, reminiscent of the bedding I have encountered during my hotel stays.

Despite their silky texture, the sheets remained securely in place on my mattress without any slipping or sliding. My only minor grievance was the overpowering scent of vinegar upon opening the package, although this dissipated entirely after a single wash.

3- Brooklinen Linen Core Sheet Set

In my opinion, linen is the epitome of fabric excellence when it comes to bed sheets, which is why I was eagerly anticipating the opportunity to try the Brooklinen linen set. Linen sheets have always held a special place in my mother's heart, and as a child, I fondly recall seeking solace in her bed, enveloped by the coolness of the linen.

Now, as an adult, one of the highlights of visiting her is the privilege of sleeping in her guest bed adorned with linen sheets.

Linen, derived from flax, has traditionally been regarded as a summer fabric due to its lightweight nature and exceptional absorbency (a fascinating fact: it dries faster than cotton!). It is particularly favored by individuals who tend to feel hot during sleep, including myself.

Fortunately, I had the opportunity to experience the Brooklinen linen set during the summer, and I must confess that they quickly became my preferred choice. Similar to other linen sheets I have previously tried, these sheets possess a distinct roughness, replacing the velvety smoothness of luxurious sets with a gossamer-like, lightweight texture reminiscent of a coastal retreat rather than a five-star hotel. The sheets themselves are airy and breathable, yet remarkably soft.

However, it is important to note that if you are unaccustomed to sleeping on linen sheets, the texture may require some adjustment. Nevertheless, after a few nights in these sheets, you will find it difficult to revert to any other option.

4- Brooklinen Heathered Cashmere Core Sheet Set

The most recent and costly Brooklinen sheet set I experimented with were the heathered cashmere sheets. Admittedly, the term "cashmere" made me apprehensive to try them out, given the time of year and my tendency to sleep hot. While I would not suggest these sheets as a summer staple (opt for linen instead), they are far from stifling.

The most striking feature of the heathered cashmere set is their flannel-like softness. Despite the name "cashmere," these sheets are surprisingly lightweight and not excessively warm. During my summer trial, I slept without a duvet, which is uncommon for me, and woke up still snuggled under the sheets. When paired with a comforter, they would be ideal for chilly winter evenings.

However, it is advisable to acquire a set promptly, as rumors suggest that this collection is limited edition.
